Getting back into working out after your surgery



Hey Breasties! 

If you are like me, you spent A LOT of time in the gym before your surgery. I was obsessed with working out and I spent more time in the gym than anywhere else. 

I even joined the swanky Equinox across the street from my office so I could sneak in workouts throughout the day. 

But after surgery and not being able to workout for 5 weeks I felt like I totally lost my mojo. Going back to the gym was daunting and I had lost all of my upper body strength that I had worked so hard to gain. 

The best advice I can give you is to START SMALL. Try not to go into it guns blazing expecting to pick up right where you left off. It is perfectly normal to feel like you don't belong there or to feel discouraged. 

Instead of going straight back to the gym, I started by going on long walks, doing some simple ab exercises at home, and doing some light leg work like lunges and squats outside. 

Once I felt more comfortable I was able to get enough confidence to get back into the gym!
